If I remember correctly, that partic track does sound as if it might have an edit/splice sometime b4, aft, or during the d-solo[?]...

Altho I reaalize JM can play some really hip stuff [his fave drumr is VC too, aft all [img]wink.gif[/img] ], some of which I have enjoyed over the years, that was quite humorous in & of itself, henry, LOL. As I think back, you could be right, even if only somewhat, or metaphorically speaking... [img]wink.gif[/img] [img]tongue.gif[/img]

JM was always a stout proponent of his own interpretation of Chaffee's grouping patterns...
